HotKey Mode Disabled = Pressing the function keys directly, but having to use FN+key to utilize the hotkeys (Volume up, brightness down etc) HotKey Mode Enabled = Pressing the hotkeys directly, but having to use FN+key to utilize the functions (like F11 making browsers/windows fullscreen) Go to the "Exit" tab and press "Exit Saving Changes" or press F10 Locate "Hotkey mode" and set it to "Enabled" Choose the BIOS setup and navigate to the "Configuration" tab When the system boots up, a menu will appear. Knowledge Base & Guides -> User Guides -> And clicking the User guide(Not HTML one) in the list -> Ctrl+F to search the document for "Reset" and/or "Novo Button" / "Novo Hole" Just plot in your in your serial number and hit enter, might have to hit it twice. You can also find out where it is at the Lenovo Support Page under : Press the Novo Button : It is the small reset hole on most devices that you need a unfolded paperclip to reach. Hold the FN key and press the ESC key for some time to unlock the FN key. 
Check the ESC key (Common lock key) for a lock symbol on it. It could also be that the FN key is locked. To use the hotkeys (brightness, volume etc, Volume, Mute etc) press down the FN key on your keyboard then press the hotkey you want to use. The hotkeys share the same buttons as the function keys. My new Legion Y540-17IRH volume and mute keys (marked F1 F2 F3) are not working, dispite updating drivers and faffing about with sound and keyboard settings.
